Getting started
Verxt is a payments platform for people and businesses connected to Africa who move money across borders. If you get paid from abroad, as a freelancer, remote employee, or business, Verxt lets you receive that money and pay out into a local bank account. If you are African and living abroad, Verxt lets you send money home to family. We are starting with the corridor between the US and Nigeria, and everything happens in regular currency.
Verxt is for freelancers, contractors, remote employees, and businesses in Africa who get paid by clients or employers abroad, and for Africans living abroad who want to send money home to family. Whether you are receiving payment for your work or sending money to loved ones back home, if you are tired of losing money and time to fees, poor rates, and delays, Verxt is built for you.
We are launching with the corridor from the US into Nigeria, so you can receive US dollar payments and get paid out in naira. More corridors are on the way. Join the waitlist to hear the moment your corridor goes live.
Not yet. Verxt is launching with its payments core first, so you can receive money from abroad and get paid out locally. Features such as multi-currency savings, virtual and physical cards, travel connectivity like eSIMs, and flight and hotel or lodge booking are planned for future releases, since the people who use Verxt to get paid also travel and will need those tools. They are on our roadmap, not available today, and we will announce each one as it goes live.
Payments and payouts
You share your Verxt payment details with the payer, whether that is a client or your employer, they pay, and the funds are routed to you. Where your corridor supports it, you can hold a balance and choose when to pay out. In payout-only corridors, funds are sent straight to your local bank account.
If you are living abroad, you can send money to a recipient in a supported country, and they receive it in their local currency, paid into their bank account. We are starting with sending from the US to Nigeria. Speed is a priority for us here: when you send money home, your family should not be left waiting, so Verxt is built to move money quickly. You will see the exchange rate and any fee before the money moves, so there are no surprises for you or the person receiving it.
Speed matters most when you are sending money home, so it is one of our core focuses. Verxt is built to move money quickly, and you will see the expected arrival time before you confirm a transfer. Exact timing depends on the corridor and the receiving bank, and it will be shown clearly in the app for each corridor as we roll it out.
Timing depends on the corridor and how the payer sends the money. Our goal is to make payouts fast and predictable so you are not left guessing for days. Exact timing will be shown in your account as we roll out each corridor.
It depends on the corridor. Some corridors let you hold a balance in the platform and pay out when you choose. Others are payout-only, meaning funds go directly to your bank account. Your account will show which applies to you.
Verxt is a technology platform, not a bank. Funds are held by licensed partner institutions that are authorised to operate in the relevant markets. Verxt itself does not hold your money.
Fees and currency
Fees vary by corridor and will always be shown clearly before a transaction completes. Our aim is to be transparent, so you know what you are paying and what you will receive before any money moves. There are no hidden intermediary charges quietly taken along the way.
When currency conversion is involved, the rate is shown to you at the time of conversion, along with any applicable fee, before you confirm. You will not be surprised by a worse rate after the fact.
No. Removing invisible, stacked fees is a core reason Verxt exists. What you see before you confirm is what applies.
Security and verification
We take security seriously. Your funds are held by licensed partner institutions, and we use encryption, role-based access controls, and two-factor authentication to help protect your account. You can read the full detail in our Privacy Policy.
Identity verification, known as KYC, is required by law for financial services. It protects you and helps prevent fraud and money laundering. You may be asked for a government-issued ID, proof of address, and, for business accounts, business registration details.
To get started you will need your legal name, date of birth, a valid government-issued ID, a working email address and phone number, and your country of residence. Business accounts will also need company details.
No. Verxt does not sell your personal information. We share data only with the partners and providers needed to deliver the service and to meet legal obligations, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
Account and support
Sign up through the Verxt app or website, provide your details, and complete identity verification. Once verified, you can start receiving payments in your supported corridor.
Each individual may hold one personal account. Business activity should run through a business account with the relevant company details. This keeps your records clean and compliant.
You can request account closure from your account settings or by contacting us. Any pending transactions need to be completed first, and any remaining balance is paid out to your designated bank account, subject to compliance checks.
Our support team is available 24 hours a day, every day of the week, including weekends and public holidays. Whenever a payment issue comes up, someone is there to help, no matter the time zone your clients or employer pay from.
Our support team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, weekends included. If you ever receive a message asking for your password or one-time passcode, treat it as fraudulent, we will never ask for those.
